Finger Coils On Short, Thick Natural Hair

Style rut, no more!

Finger Coils
Styling Level: Moderately Easy
Time: 1-2 hours
Products Needed: Styling Creme/Butter and/or Gel, Comb, Denman Brush for detangling and definition.
Maintenance: LOW- Sleep with a satin bonnet or pillow case, no re-twisting needed!

  • I started my coils on damp hair. You may do these on wet hair but I personally don't have a week and a half for my hair to dry!
  • I detangled then sectioned my hair in "smedium" sections. Not too big, but not too small. I wanted more "curl" in my "coil".
  • I used a cream/gel (Lace Natural Mango Castor Twisting Creme). I didn't want my hair to be "crunchy. Using this product kept my hair soft and easier to unravel.

See video below.

This style lasted about 4 days.
Almost daily, I used the Oyin Handmade Juices and Berries Leave-In
to refresh my hair and then I picked my roots for more volume.
